Steve Dini has been coaching in Northern California for 15 years. He was the head coach of the University of California, Berkeley Men's lacrosse team from 2003-2008. The Bears finished the 2008 season with a 10-6 record which included stunning upsets of the University of Oregon and Stanford University. In the 2007, Coach Dini led the team to an impressive Central Conference Championship and to their first Western Conference Final Four appearance in five years.

Prior to taking the coaching reins at Cal, Dini served as the head coach for the Chico State Men's lacrosse team,leading them in three short years to an impressive National Ranking of 12th in the country and their first and only ever National Championship Tournament appearance.

Dini is the founder of the Nor-Cal box lacrosse league, director of USA WEST lacrosse, former president of the NCJLA, head coach of Marin Catholic and Southern Marin programs in the '90s and founder of Nor-Cal U13, U15, U17 and U19 All-Stars.He has taken teams of all levels to every major tournament inthe United States and abroad. His exposure to the national and international game is unsurpassed amongst his peers.

Rob Warner

Rob Warner has been apart of the USA West family since its inception in 2000. He has either been a player, a coach or director on 7 USA West trips. Rob played college lacrosse at the University of California Berkeley where he was a member of the 1998 USLIA national championship team. He was a four time Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) All-star, two time WCLL MVP and was named to three USLIA All American teams. Rob has been an assistant coach at Cal, a Lacrosse Development Officer in London, England, the head coach at CSU Chico, and is currently the head assistant coach at University of San Diego.

Head Coach, Carmel High School


Coach Dini is in his seventh season as the Head Coach at Carmel High School. He is the US lacrosse High School Area Chairman for Central California, and is a 4-time  high school Coach of The Year recipient. In 2003, he founded the Carmel Invitational Lacrosse Tournament, and recently represented the West Coast as part of the selection committee for the 2008 World Champion US U-19 team.

With his brother Steve, he has led competitive teams both domestically and internationally, and has run numerous camps, clinics, and workshops. Coach Dini played both Tennis and Lacrosse at the University of the Pacific, and is a graduate of the Robert Louis Stevenson School, where he first learned the game from coaching legend Lou Young.

Greg Guy

Head Coach, Northwood High School

Coach Guy was a 4 time All-Star, 3 time Midfielder of the Year and an All-American while in High School. Coach Guy moved on to play at UC-Berkeley, both with and under Coaches Warner and Parker. While at Cal, Coach Guy as team Captain his Junior and Senior years. He was a 2 time WCLL All-Star and earned pre-season All-American honors twice as well. Coach Guy ended his career at Cal as the team’s Most Valuable Player, and transitioned back to Orange County where he picked up coaching his Alma Mater’s Serrano Intermediate and El Toro High School. Since taking over these teams, Serrano has produced over 40 players to move on to High School, and El Toro has placed in the top three of the Orange County Lacrosse Association each year. Coach Guy’s record as a High School Head Coach is 26-5.

Alex SmithAlex Smith

Assistant Coach, Denver Outlaws


Alex Smith is currently in his first year as head coach for the Colorado State University Rams after serving as an assistant to lacrosse legend Flip Naumburg from 2004-2009.  As an assistant coach, Smith helped the Rams win their fourth national championship in 2006.  Graduating from CSU in 2003, Smith was a part of three national championship teams in 1999, 2001 and 2003 and named to the MCLA All-America team in 2002 and 2003.  He is one of only two people in MCLA history with four national championship rings.

In 2006, he became the first player from the MCLA to play for a Major League Lacrosse team when he suited up for the Denver Outlaws.  Smith played with the Outlaws for four seasons, posting a career save percentage of 60%, including appearances in two MLL Championship games in 2006 and 2008.  In the summer of 2010, Smith will also make his debut as an assistant coach for the Outlaws.

Smith is currently General Manager for Rock-it Pocket in Fort Collins, CO, where he resides with his wife, Tiana, and son, Tucker.  He has also served as media coordinator for the Vail Lacrosse Shootout since 2004.

John Paul John Paul

Head Coach, Michigan

John Paul begins his 13th season at the helm of the Michigan men's lacrosse team having accumulated a 205-42 record through his first twelve years.  His teams have earned a dominating 91 - 2 record in the Central Collegiate Lacrosse Association.  Under Paul, the Wolverines have won a stretch of nine of the last eleven CCLA championships and have appeared in the MCLA national tournament each of the last eleven years as well, reaching at least the quarterfinals every year except one. 

In 2008, the Wolverines did something no other MCLA team has ever done before when they completed a perfect season by going 20-0.  In 2009 the Wolverines repeated the feat by going 20-0 again and winning their second national championship.  The 40-game win streak is the longest in MCLA history.
Under Paul, 51 Wolverines have earned MCLA All-American recognition, including 17 on the First-Team.  Michigan has also boasted 28 MCLA Scholar Athletes during Paul's tenure.  Away from the field, Paul's teams have excelled in the classroom and community as well.  Over the last several years the team has earned over a 3.4 overall grade-point-average.

Ken BroschartKen Broschart

Assistant Coach, Michigan

Entering his third season with the Wolverines, Ken Broschart's main focus will continue to be with the Michigan offense.  In the last two seasons, the Wolverines have put up some impressive numbers up front, scoring 15.46 goals per game in '08 and 16.43 in '09. 

After four years at the helm of the Arizona Wildcats as the team's Head Coach, Broschart came to Ann Arbor with an impressive resume. During his tenure, he built a 55-23 (.705) overall record at Arizona, and was named the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League Coach of the Year in 2004.

Broschart brings a wealth of national coaching experience to the table as well, with two stints as a member of the USA West Team coaching staff. As the head coach in 2007, Broschart's team won the Berlin Open, and as an assistant in 2005, where he coached alongside John Paul, the squad took home the Asian Pacific Games Championship.
